Sedona - Secret Canyon Trail

Rating *****
length 13 mile - 5 hours (round trip). Moderate.
Height 4680 - 5400 feet
Access A high clearance car is preferred, but some regular cars always make it. From Sedona take the Dry Creek Road, exit right on FR152 on a rocky bumpy road. After passing Brins Mesa trail head the Secret Canyon trail head is on the left on a short dirt road to a small parking.

  • One of the best Canyon Trails in Sedona with views, slot canyon, water. In my opinion as good as West Fork and a lot less crowded.

The trail is well marked and easy up to the crossing with the Dave Miller Trail. (less than 2 hours return up to this point)

The trail goes to the left and goes up above the canyon floor and down again (several times) crossing the creek dozens of times.
At point "stop" the trail fades and probably ends here.

In between the canyon narrows into some slot canyon stretches. The trail mostly goes higher up the canyon wall at these points.

There is some shade in the first part up to Dave Miller Crossing.
After that the canyon narrows and there are larger trees with a lot of shade.

In the canyon the GPS signal is poor and expect up to 200 yards deviation.
